ARTIST'S STATEMENT

The creative process of my work is one of spontaneity and humor. The subject matter of my work is inspired by an ongoing theme of monsters. The materiality of the soft sculpture work allows the viewer immediate access that enables him/her to engage in a relationship with the object. The sculptures have within them their own sense of a narrative. This playfulness gives the pieces and air of lightness. The parallels of lightness verses darkness with the idea of monsters is an area I am currently exploring with this body of work.
